Day Four: Relationally Authentic

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words
— Romans 8:26

Romans 8:26 is the catalyst for our prayer time during this year’s Week of Prayer. This verse calls us to humbly embrace our weakness and at the same time to hope in God’s powerful provision.

Each day’s prompts for prayer will flow out of our 3 Core Values at OMPC:  Grace Driven, Relationally Authentic and Kingdom Oriented.

As we think about Relational Authenticity for today, consider our summer sermon series on the “One Another’s” of the New Testament.

  1. Pick one or two of from the following list and ask God to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine through your selected “one another.”

Love one another (John 13:34-35), Forgive one another (Col 3:13), live in harmony (Rom 12:16), serve one another (Gal. 5:13), encourage one another (Heb 3:13), pray for one another (James 5:16), be hospitable to one another (1 Peter 4:9).

We also encourage you to utilize our Discipleship Hour of Prayer Guide for Ministry Prayers. Today, Pray for our Youth, Children’s and Worship Ministries at OMPC. See specific Prayers for these ministries below, and click the button to access the full ministry prayer guide.

YOUTH

  • Pray that our students would be captivated by the love of Christ and would see him as their highest treasure, that God would give our students a burden for the lost students in their schools and use them to point others to Christ. Pray for our adult leaders, that they would model a genuine love of Christ and that they would be used deeply in the sanctification of our students.

CHILDRENS

  • Pray for every child in Oak Kids to be deeply impacted by gospel truth this year. Pray for hearts to be transformed and lives to be changed by the hearing of the Word. Pray that every child would be comforted by the love of the Father and eternally changed by his grace. Pray that every child in oak kids never knows a day without Jesus.
Pray for our Seed Planters who will be teaching our Oak Kids this year and that they will be enabled to teach the Word with confidence as they point children to Jesus.

WORSHIP MINISTRY

  • Pray for our fall choir launch on August 16 - for veterans and newcomers to join and that each hour of rehearsal would be a time of fellowship, community and worship. Pray for the Kids Choir as they resume rehearsals and start preparing to join the adults for Christmas AND for their spring musical set for Feb 17th! Pray for worship staff that we would continue to work well as a cohesive team, and seek to involve anyone and everyone interested in service, in the worship ministry.
