Forgive by Tim Keller
SUE HARRIS
WEDNESDAYS AT 10 AM; S-180
*Childcare available, registration required through Oak Kids Clubhouse
"To err is human; to forgive, divine," has long been aspirational. But our complicated modern world has questioned the benefits of forgiveness. Tim Keller passionately defends the central role forgiveness has to play in our lives and shows readers how and why forgiveness is the only way forward in an imperfect world.
Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Peter and Geri Scazzero
LINDA BARRETT
WEDNESDAYS AT 7 PM; Women's Living Room
In this study we will look at how our lack of emotional health and self-knowledge create barriers to a vibrant, authentic, and transforming life in Christ. We will learn how Scazerro’s life and congregation were radically changed as he addressed his emotional health and practiced a more contemplative life with Christ. Then we will discover how to integrate these into our lives.
The structure of this study consists of daily homework through devotionals from Emotionally Healthy Spirituality: Day by Day, along with weekly teaching from Emotionally Healthy Spirituality each week. The class is 10 weeks long.
ABIDE by Jen Wilkin
CHRISTINE BRACEWELL
THURSDAYS AT 9:30 AM; S-180
*Childcare available, registration required through Oak Kids Clubhouse
How can we hold on to assurance of our faith? How can we discern the truth from a lie? How can we know God loves us? in these three short letters, the apostle John reminds an early church facing division, deception, and doubt to hold fast to what they know and to live like they believe it. And he reminds us, as well. In this 10-session Bible study on the letters of 1,2, and 3 John. Jen Wilkin helps you see how two thousand years later, his words call to Christians in similar challenges to recall a great salvation and to abide in the truth.
The Gospel of Mark by Tim Keller
Jessica Hale & Holly Mackle
Fridays AT 11-12:30; S-180
This study will lead us into the Gospel of Mark which readily divides into two parts, with the first half examining the person of Jesus. Mark’s character exposition builds to the turning point for Peter—as for each of us—when Peter confesses, “You are the Christ.” (8:27-30) Through the study’s guided questions, small group discussion, and large group teaching, we will seek to grow together in observation, interpretation, and application of scripture. Participants are encouraged to study and meditate on the passage in preparation, and are welcome to bring a sack lunch.
*If you already have a book, please register using the code BOOK to bypass the charge and we will not order you a book.
