Our 2022 Missions Theme is “On Your Mark”! In light of the World Games being hosted in Birmingham in 2022, and in the context of how Olympic-type sporting events gather people together, we have focused this year’s Missions emphasis on gearing up and racing off alongside our Ministry Partners through Prayer, Giving and Going! The theme verse is Hebrews 12:1-2:

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Our theme continues into October as we anticipate our US Ministries Sundays, October 16 & 23! We will welcome guest speaker Irwyn Ince, Mission to North America Coordinator, who will preach at both services on Sunday, October 16. During both Sundays 9:30 am Discipleship Classes, we will have the opportunity to hear from various ministry partners from around the Birmingham area. The first Sunday will have an emphasis on our City Initiatives Partners; the second Sunday’s emphasis will feature Campus Ministries.

Save the Date for our Fall Festival and Mobilization Fair on Sunday, October 16 at 5:00 pm! This will be a great opportunity to connect with local ministry partners to learn about ways to get involved with these ministries. We will also have inflatables, face painting and food trucks for a fun and festive time for the whole family!

Lead Pastor Bob Flayhart will close out the weekend preaching on October 23 with encouragement and inspiration to continue running the race as a church alongside our US Ministry Partners.
